Just Another Crazy Saturday

Today was a busy day. We were supposed to be up early this morning because J-man was having a sleepover at J-dudes house and was being dropped of at 9am. I woke up at 6:30 to let the dog out, but went back to bed. Big mistake. The next time I saw the clock it was 9:21. Yowsa. Mitch and I both jumped up and started moving, not believing that A. we actually slept that late and B. T-man did not wake us up demanding food, or the dog for that matter. Weren't they hungry? I was, and I am pretty sure that's what finally woke me up, was my stomach. J-man did not get dropped off until 9:30, maybe they all slept in at J-dudes house too.

So after a quick shower, getting dressed and eating breakfast real quick we were out the door again. First stop - Tae Kwon Do for T-man. Mitch and T-man stayed there J-man and I headed out to the pool for swim team sign ups. We signed up for swim team, stroke and turn classes and ordered a new sweatshirt. I almost ordered one for me, and I still can if I want to, I'm thinking about it.....

J-man and I headed back to martial arts to watch T-man finish and then it was back home to rush around and get the house picked up before my Mom got here. We were supposed to be going to the Mariners game and I thought it started at one. After a quick call to Goma to see what time she was leaving I was informed that it was a 7pm game. Ooops. I called my Mom, but she didn't answer her cell phone. Better keep cleaning, she's on her way. Uh oh. That was the doorbell. Great. House is a mess. The game is 8 hours away. I have no back up plan.

So we hung out in the only clean room in the house while we decided what to do. Lunch was the first thing on everybody's minds so we did that then went and played tourist in Seattle. A little Pike Place Market - all the flowers were being snatched up for Mothers Day, kind of funny. Looked at Elliot Bay - hey, there are some Tugboat races today! New Olympic Sculpture Park on the Waterfront - we should go investigate it. It was interesting. I call this one "Drunk Longshoreman" but I don't know what its official name is. Finally the ballpark is open, lets go to Safeco Field!

Ah baseball. I love it. I love it even better when the Mariners win. And it is even better yet when the Yankees LOSE. Not tonight my friends, not tonight. But we did have entertainment. The lady sitting in front of us had a hat on, a beret to be exact and it had a little tiny thing-y-ma-bob on the top that T-man kept trying to play with. The lady would then scratch her head. I tried not to laugh and be the good Mom, "T-man! Stop that!" But it was still funny. The poor little boys had just had a very buzy day and started saying they were ready to go home after the 5th inning. Since the score was 7-2 Yankees, I was not totally opposed to that, but thought we should stick it out for my Mom. We made it to the 8th inning and both the boys were asleep and the score had not gone anywhere, so off we went to take our collective 100pounds of dead (sleeping actually) weight to the car.

Whew today is over. The house did not clean itself while I was gone all day, so I better get to it.

We've Got a Red Belt in the House!

Saturday was the official test in front of the Grand Master. J-man ran through all of his forms and did all of the demo kicks, bag work and busted through the board on the first try. But we didn't get the results until Monday. So on Monday we added another belt to our growing collection. Red. This was the goal that he has had for a year. So I asked him what was next. He wants some stripes on his red belt. I asked him what his new big goal is - B0-Dan. I guess it's good to have something to strive for. Go J-man!!

Spring Break is Almost Over

And boy did this vacation fly by! Well I should start where I ended, last Friday. We had to go pick up the boy's Tuxes because the original measurements from 1 month ago were too short for J-man. I am pretty sure he grew a whole inch. After we took care of that we somehow managed to wrangle most of my extended family into 3 cars and headed out to Old Town to poke around and eat some lunch. Lunch for 11 adults and 4 kids is not easy to do, but we managed to squeeze everyone in at the Coyote Cafe for some Mexican. After lunch we all drove out to Point Loma and poked around up there until they closed. We finally got a little bit of sunshine in the afternoon, but it was gone by the time we got back to the hotel. That didn't stop J-man and T-man from wanting to try the hotel pool out. I sat on the side and watched, too cold for me!

Saturday was the wedding, but not until 3pm so we took an early morning trip out to La Jolla to see the seals and tide pools. Only 2 carloads went to Seal Beach, the weather was not cooperating, it was drizzling rain. The seals were out and we had a good time even though we got a little wet.
After our LaJolla adventure we headed back to the hotel to get ready for the wedding. The boys looked so cute in their tuxes, but J-man was not happy with the collar-he thought it was too tight. Only a few pictures were taken before the wedding and then it was time to post J-man out by the programs so he could pass them out. He did not look happy with the job that he had ASKED for, but he did it. Then it was time for the ceremony. T-man walked down the aisle with his Auntie and then came over to sit with us. J-man said he didn't feel good. Uh-oh. Out comes the Bride with her Dad. J-man thinks he might throw up. Uh-oh. I whisper to him - don't throw up on your tux. Mitch says lets get him out of here and gets J-man halfway to the end of the chairs and J-man blows chunks in the bushes. Yowsa. They get a few more feet and he does it again. The wedding ceremony is still going on and I am praying that nobody noticed. YEAH RIGHT. When the ceremony was almost over Mitch came back with a greenish looking J-man sans tux jacket and vest. Well the good news is that the Bride and Groom had no idea that thier nephew blew chunks in the bushes at their wedding. The bad news some people did notice. Oh well. The tux had seen better days, but Mitch did a pretty good job making it semi-presentable. I couldn't smell him anyway.
On to the reception. Fun Fun Fun. It was great to spend time with friends and family and have such a great party. I love my new Sister in law and the boys love thier new Auntie. Her family and friends were soo much fun.
J-man and T-man ate everything in site then hit the dance floor. That was pretty cute. They had made fast friends with the flower girl and the three of them made for some pretty good entertainment for us.
You know it was a good party when you get kicked out of the hottub by hotel security and the best man ends up jumping in the pool at 1AM still in his tux, and that is how the night ended for us.
Sunday was Easter and it was Brunch time. It was soo crowded and there was a ton of food. J-man had completely recovered from his -whatever he had- and ate his wieght in seafood at Brunch.

We finished the Easter celebration with an "egg" hunt for the kids. Aunt Jack had it all set up for them with buckets and everything. They left with lots of loot, thanks Aunt Jack - a 3 month supply of candy!

It was sad having to say goodbye to everyone, we had just had such a good time with everyone, but after our goodbyes we set out for the second half of our spring break - THE CRUISE. I'll have to write about that one later. Phew, I'm tired.

Wedding Rehearsal

We had the wedding rehearsal last night. I am scared for the T-man, he did not seem very into the whole ring bearer thing. I was totally laughing that the flower girl is a whole year younger than him and she is the same size as him, she may even have a few pounds on him. They will be really cute all dressed up. While the rehearsal was being set up they attempted to play croquet with the J-man. Watch out everybody!!!
J-man played with the babies during the rehearsal. He played peek-a-boo with them and they were fascinated with him. And he made them laugh, no surprise there, he makes me laugh everyday..................After the rehearsal was over we headed to a Mexican restaurant that was within walking distance of our hotel. I had all my siblings, aunts, uncles and some cousins there and we had a lot of fun. Who wouldn't when my Mom was paying!! Two margaritas later I needed to go to bed, I was really buzzed.

Mom and Melissa, little sister home from Spain. The Bride and Groom, she actually likes being called Uncle Jack by the boys, silly girl.
T-man kept begging me to take his picture and then would make goofy faces and then want to look at the picture and THEN he would laugh. What a goof.Me and my little bro. Only now he is 6'4", do I still get to call him "little"?Okay and these are the CUTEST little cousins EVER!! Little JC and his big sis EC. I was the bad cousin and gave her ice cream, muhuhahahaha.

Science Project

J-man got a 4 on his science project!!! I am so proud of him. I have to admit, when that assignment came home I was a little annoyed. It was titled a "Family Science Project" and is a huge part of his science grade. He is in first grade for goodness sake, he doesn't really get "grades", he gets numbers. Anyway, the assignment was to do a poster, book or model on our planet earth and then he had a big list of vocabulary words that he had to try and fit it. The "family" was supposed to work on the project at home and then J-man had to present it in class. They even video taped it for us (for $1). It took J-man more than a week to even pick a subject. That was painful. We went through his huge collection of science books in his room to help him pick something. Then we made him write some stuff up that he wanted to talk about. It took forever and we had to help him spell everything. Mitch and J-man did some Internet searching for supporting pictures and printed them out. J-man and I made a poster with the printouts and then Mitch had J-man type in his "report", it was painful to watch J-man type, LOL. Mitch made J-man practice his presentation a million times and, wow J-man got a 4 - the highest grade a teacher gives out - EXCELLENT!!!
